Reelet is a macOS app for playing YouTube videos and local video files. Contact: h@kor.nz.

Data the app uses

You can use local playlists without a Google account. The app saves your queue, playlists, recent items, playback positions, and volume on your Mac. Local video files remain in their original folders. The app does not upload those files to its developer.

If you choose Sign In with Google, the app asks for youtube.readonly access. It uses this access to list your YouTube playlists and the videos in those playlists. Google does not make Watch Later videos available through the YouTube API, so Reelet cannot show that list. It does not request permission to edit your YouTube account. Google handles your sign-in; the app does not receive your Google password. The app keeps the refresh token in macOS Keychain and keeps a short-lived access token in memory. It does not store your Google password or send the token to the app developer.

The app sends requests to Google and YouTube to sign in, load playlist information, video thumbnails, and play YouTube videos. Google and YouTube process those requests under their own policies. The app has no account server and does not send your queue or playback history to the developer. The app does not use its own analytics or advertising service.

Control and deletion

You can use YouTube Settings > Sign Out to remove the saved Google refresh token from macOS Keychain. You can also revoke the app's access in your Google Account settings. To remove local queue data, delete the ~/Library/Application Support/FloatQueue folder.

The project website is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process site visit data under the GitHub Privacy Statement. The website has no custom analytics or contact form.
